2025 Present Opening and Information
The latest Era gift opening in history is here!

Hey Era! The moment most of us have been waiting for is almost upon us! The first batch of players selected for gift opening will be able to start opening their accumulated presents tomorrow, January 19th at 6 AM EST.

Loot-wise, this is one of our biggest present releases in Era's history. There are a total of 200+ hats and 170+ items scattered across the three present tiers this year (Different tiers carry different loot pools if it matters to you!). Read on to learn about this year's new milestone rewards, ultra rare tier loot, and the limited and legendary tier rolls along with their stock amounts at the very bottom of this post.

UPDATE: ON-SALE GIFTS AND ALL OTHER CHRISTMAS-RELATED CONTENT LIKE MAP SNOW AND ORNAMENT TOWN WILL BE GOING AWAY ON FEBRUARY 4TH! YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO OPEN ANY UNOPENED 2025 GIFTS PAST THAT DATE UNTIL DECEMBER 2026 WHEN THEY ARE REMOVED AND 2026 GIFTS ARE PUT ON SALE.

Milestones Continued: Sakuyasha (1000 Tier 3 Opened)

A preview of this year's 1500 gift skin.

This year's 1000 500 G$ gifts weapon is the mighty Sakuyasha. We know getting lucky with the limited or legendary tier rolls year by year takes an incredible amount of luck, which means a lot of players come out empty-handed. As such, many look forward to the 1000 gifts weapon yearly and take solace in walking out with something worthwhile for having poured in a whole 500,000 G$ or more into gifts. And while the 1000 gifts milestone gun isn't limited-tier and we don't intend for it to ever be, we think it should at least reflect some of the value poured into accumulating 1000 tier three presents and be above some of the more expensive G$ guns like BAR in usability or feel.

As such, this year's milestone gun Sakuyasha deals 12.5 damage with a clip of 18 and high spread. It is similar in feel to the SV-DKR gun from the recently released Black Case Armory. Each bullet carries a minor chance to knock an opponent back, and its wielder is healed for 3.5 HP with every kill. Additionally, every kill drops a large flame on top of your opponent's corpse. This flame carries a small AOE range around it which continues to burn any enemy that goes near it and inflicts Sakuyasha Burn until the dropped flame vanishes. The dropped flame and inflicted burns change color when the 1500 gifts Sakuyasha: Glacier skin is equipped.

Limited and Legendary Tier Loot

All limited and legendary loot will remain trade-disabled until Reo and I believe they're in a solid spot balancing-wise, which could be at least a week or two or more until after release. We'll keep you posted.

This year's stocked limited loot is as follows and can only be rolled within tier three gifts (500 G$ loot pool):

Mysterious Scroll (25 Stock)

Ignitra (20 Stock)

Christmas Black Matter Katanas (15 Stock)

Frostrend (15 Stock)

Stellar Katana (15 Stock)

This year's legendary loot which does not have a stock and can be found at extremely low odds will remain available until gifts are reset before gift release 2026 (Can only be rolled within tier two and three gift loot pools):

Erythraios Bow

Taixu Claymore and Chain

Limited and Legendary Tier Loot Continued:

Mysterious Scroll Preview

Mysterious Scroll (25 Stock): This year's newest mysterious currency. Yeah yeah, we know we're behind as all-hell. We've recently entirely changed the way we manage the development of exotic items. Previously, we used to assign small groups of key staff per currency. This meant that Mysterious Orb for example would get 1 key GANI artist and 1 key GFX artist specifically assigned to it. That meant a lot of times if those artists had to leave throughout the project's lifespan or became caught up with other tasks, Mysterious Orb as a whole stalled. Instead, going forwards, talent shortage aside, multiple exotic-tier concepts will be worked on simultaneously by different pairs of staff without being assigned to a specific currency. This way, the first available pair of weapons that have been fully completed will be dedicated to the next overdue currency's release, and so forth.

Christmas Black Matter Katanas

Christmas Black Matter Katanas (15 Stock): This year's Christmas-remixed limited item is here! Following tradition, it is a nerfed Christmas version of an iconic past limited release. This year's remixed version of BMK deals 10 damage without range, inflicts a rainbow burn when striking, comes with an on-back sheath special, and has a stationary 4 HP per second heal special.

Ignitra Preview

Ignitra (20 Stock): This year's limited gun is the devastating Ignitra. It features an assault mode and a mini-gun mode.

In Assault Mode, the Ignitra fires 20 bullets per clip, with each shot dealing 12.5 damage.

Mini-Gun Mode drastically increases the rate of fire and uses a 50-round clip, though damage is reduced to 5 per bullet. While in this mode, the user can deploy an AOE floor that protects the wielder by reducing incoming damage by 50% and provides a large fire-rate boost as long as the Ignitra user remains within its range.

Additionally, every bullet that hits in Mini-Gun Mode has a good chance to heal the user for 2 HP, and there is also a good chance to apply a burn effect in both modes.

Frostrend Preview

Frostrend (15 Stock): This year's big-ticket ranged melee is Frostrend. It is a chakram-like blade dealing 9 damage with every swing. Its range tier is comparable to that of Hellfire Katana, Golden Butterfly Knife, or the original Black Matter Katanas.

It features a unique two-charge dash ability and any player hit by its dashes becomes susceptible to taking an additional +2 damage from any damage source for a period of time. This means if you land a dash on them and then proceed to attack them with Frostrend, you'll deal 11 damage per swing to them.

It also comes with a temporary-duration "Enchanted" mode which gives the Frostrend wielder 30% damage reduction. All enemies slain by this mode will also explode, dealing nearby AOE damage.

Finally, it carries a third, 10 damage AOE attack ability which marks any and all struck enemies. While marked, these enemies will heal Frostrend's user for 2 HP each time they are hit.

Stellar Katana Preview

Stellar Katana (15 Stock): The powerful Stellar Katana deals 10 damage ranged with every swing and features a range tier comparable to Icy Slasher, being more pronounced near its sides, otherwise known as side range.

It features a passive heal ability where upon activation it heals 5 HP to the user every second for three seconds, for a total of 15 HP.

It also features a temporary-duration ice trail ability, similar to last year's Eclipse Ember limited release. While this trail follows the wielder, any opponent that comes in contact with the ice floor is slowed, giving the katana user an opening to charge.

Additionally, it comes with a three-charge dash ability dealing 10 damage per dash. If landed on an opponent, it will inflict the new Astral Infection debuff effect on them. Infected players will receive damage and deal damage to any player near them every three seconds for a total of six seconds. Each melee swing with the katana also carries a small chance to inflict this new debuff.

Taixu Claymore and Chain Preview

Taixu Claymore and Chain (No Stock): The first legendary to showcase this year is the almighty Taixu. It is a three-in-one weapon featuring a claymore sword, chain-sword, and spear. It is a high-damage, slower-swinging weapon.

The Taixu can switch between its melee modes, with Chain-Sword Mode being the slowest-swinging option. However, this mode offers significant range and strong pushback on hit, placing it in a similar tier to the retired Unknown Dimension Katana melee from auctions while active.

Both Claymore Mode and Chain-Sword Mode deal 14 damage per hit, and each has a good chance to apply a slowing effect. Chain-Sword Mode additionally includes a small pushback effect.

Spear Mode functions as the weapon’s dash mode, allowing the user to perform two dashes, with each dash dealing 10 damage.

Erythraios Preview

Erythraios (No Stock): The second and final legendary to preview this year is the devastating Erythraios. It is a shotgun-like bow firing three arrows at once dealing 5.5 damage stacked per arrow for a total of 16.5 damage if all shots connect.

It features a marking ability which marks any nearby player (Up to five at a time) which deals 2 damage per second for 6 seconds and prevents them from healing.

Additionally, it is able to summon a large AOE circle from the sky which heals the owner for 10 HP and deals delayed damage to all players caught in the area's blast after a set period of time, dealing 15 damage.

Best of luck in this year's gift opening and thanks for your continued support of Era!

Notes:

  • We are anticipating server issues tomorrow for opening day related to desync and lag, the primary reason we were wary to release gifts on time last month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and continued support.
  • All stats, abilities, values, mechanics, descriptions, and any other information presented in this blog are subject to change at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, balance adjustments, reworks, removals, additions, or functionality changes made before or after release.
