GST 2026: Date and New Roster and Invitation System
Hey Era! This year's GST will take place on September 19th at 12 PM Eastern Time. It'll be streamed live on our official Twitch channel for all of you who'd like to spectate it.
Additionally, we've put together a new system behind the scenes for managing official Era tournaments and their participating gangs. This year's GST will be the first tournament on Era to use it, but it'll be possible to use it for future tournaments of different game mode or type if we ever decide to organize them.
Let's get into how a gang who qualified can officially join this year's GST and set up their roster in-game.
Receiving a Tournament Invitation
If you're a gang leader and have been invited to an official tournament, a notification icon will appear on your in-game phone menu leading you toward the Gangs sub-menu.
Upon tapping the Gangs sub-menu, you'll receive a pop-up stating you have a pending invite for a staff-hosted tournament.
New Tournaments Widget
From there, head towards the Manage Gang option and then More Actions. You'll find a new "Tournaments" widget where you'd regularly check your gang's audit logs or set allies.
Responding to an Invitation
Gang leaders can choose to accept or decline a tournament invitation for any given year. If you've accepted an invitation and would later like to drop out, you'll need to contact whoever's organizing the tournament.
Roster Management
After accepting an invite, you'll be shown a list of any upcoming tournament your gang will be a part of it. Tap on the tournament title to open up the roster menu and click Edit Roster near the bottom to manage your participants.
While there, gang leaders will be able to tap and select members of their gang to designate them either as part of their roster or sub-roster.
The total amount of roster versus sub spots will be decided by the tournament organizer per tournament. In GST 2026's case, gangs are limited to 8 roster picks and 4 subs as polled.
Once leaders have chosen their participants, all they have to do next is wait for the event date to arrive and be online with their main roster from the invited gang tag.
The organizer will be able to utilize a separate staff-only menu to warp your entire roster into the arena, swap subs in or out before matches, and essentially manage the entire tournament from one tool without needing to manually coordinate it with gangs like previous years.
Organizers are also able to lock rosters and sub-rosters before the tournament begins so that gang leaders do not edit them last minute or while the tournament is ongoing, so make sure you come prepared before your gang is warped into the arena this year!
