New Base Release: Era Bank
After how many years? Ten? A new base has arrived to Era City!

Hey Era! To fulfill a promise made to the community last year, a new meta-controlled base has finally been released. Find it under Start where the bank building is located at the new Bank Zone area!

This base has restrictions set in place which differentiate it from any other base currently on the map. Read further to learn more about the base itself and the currently enforced item meta within it!

DISCLAIMER: As this is a unique release which is impossible to test at scale among only a few staff, we will largely depend on player feedback for any potential adjustments to the base's functionality, weapon meta, or layout, and players can expect changes within the first couple months depending on how everything goes.

Enforced Meta

A day or two after release, all players will have increased walk-speed while within the base, which will be a permanent feature of the new bank base. This will come at the cost of disallowing any existing item speed boosts while fighting within it.

So in regards to what a "meta-controlled" base means:

When inside, players will only be able to equip, use, and browse items within their inventory that are whitelisted for use. Over time, specific items may be removed from the whitelist depending on how they affect the meta, and some may be added to the whitelist depending on feedback and demand.

Currently, the following items are allowed to be used within the base:

  • ALL CURRENT GRALAT SHOP WEAPONS AVAILABLE ON THE MAP
  • MOST EXISTING EC SHOP WEAPONS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CHEMICAL SERIES FOR NOW)
  • MOST CURRENT GANG COIN SHOP WEAPONS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LIMITED GUNS FROM THE PAST TWO SEASONS)
  • ALL CURRENT PANTHER INTERNATIONAL, P-TECH, AND FORT KNOX EXPLOSIVES AND TRAPS, INCLUDING BROKEN BAUBLES AND VALENTINE'S BOMBS
  • COMPLEX PK AND SPAR REWARDS MINUS MP5 FOR NOW

In order to keep the base's meta newer-player friendly and more accessible to the average player, any existing or future limited or high-tier items are unlikely to ever be allowed within the base.

We might allow all or some of the "Chemical" EC weapon series at a later date after evaluating how their abilities will play out in the meta, but bottom-line, we want to avoid dash and AOE floor spam, and other abilities currently common in the main basing meta.

New Base Features

We're experimenting with this new base utilizing the circle capture system instead of a traditional "Flag" and will see how it plays out for the base's unique meta. This is the second base on the map to currently feature a circle capture alongside Neo Zone albeit with a bit less capture HP.

You will find several health kits which restore a total of 15 HP scattered around the base which regenerate every 5 - 20+ seconds. Unlike Neo Zone however, healing is not restricted in this base. Players are free to use their food or any allowed healing item in their inventories.

Upon dying within the base and being sent to the underground heal room, players belonging to the gang that currently holds the base will be able to take a gang-only passageway shown above which will allow them to reach the capture circle faster than attackers.

The catch however is that the tunnels leading to the circle capture above are PK-enabled, and base attackers will be able to flank base holders by descending into the tunnels from the other side.

Both base holders and attackers looking to flank will be able to descend into the tunnels below by getting past the bank's vault door directly above the base's circle capture point. Base holders will need to ensure they keep the tunnels clear of any infiltrating enemies in order to keep their circle capture secure.

The base itself has two outside entrances and one main entrance. The outside ladder entrance on the left can only be taken by those holding the base while the right side ladder entrance can be taken by anybody. Each set of ladders drops players on the opposite side of the base past the main entrance.

Update 04/22/2026:

Several layout changes have been introduced since release which you can check the official Discord's Era patch notes for (Including a vent system to the underground mines and mining as a job for defenders).

Base holders now receive a 300 G$ hourly stipend for holding down the bank.

Additionally, a new G$ 50% damage reduction shield option has been placed on sale within Fort Knox Bomb Shop which is enabled within the new base. Cheers!

Going forwards, we will continue to prioritize core content updates and quality of life features over time for the average player while slowly distancing ourselves from holiday-heavy and item-heavy release schedules. For future item updates as discussed a while back, we will try to prioritize more accessible and attainable goals for everyone while slowly attempting to heal a meta that was broken from years of limited item releases. -Blade
