Social Shop Season 4 Release and More
Hey Era! For those of you who remember the old Facebook Headquarters and the many Facebook-themed furniture, items, and promotions that spawned from that generation of the game, we're here to inform you that Era's finally parted ways with that chapter of its past, because starting today, the old Facebook Headquarters has been fully replaced by the new Media Mall which can now be searched for on your player map!

And with that change in place, let's dive into the season four release of the social media shop which has been bundled with these changes.
Season 4 Release

Once inside the new Media Mall, make your way to the new lobby up head past the old burger spot. Once you've reached it, grab the free Social Coin near the entrance and head up the staircase into the new season four door. You'll also notice we brought back the first season's content for this release!

Season 4 follows an elemental, Avatar-inspired theme, featuring content themed after its four major elements: Earth, air, water, and fire.
The shop features a total of 26 rotating hats, five new G$ heads, and four new items: The Abyssal Serpent, Sakura no Kaze, Elemental Tool Kit, and Cabbage Carrot Mount!
The Abyssal Serpent is the social media shop's designated big grind item and features a price tag higher than the Star Rifle, which warrants its own blog section, so let's dive into it a bit.
Abyssal Serpent
At a painstaking release price tag of 115 Social Coins, the Abyssal Serpent is considerably the social shop's end-game grind item.

To start off, yes, the Abyssal Serpent weapon is ranged. Like we saw with the release of the Jigoku Katana in last year's Jigoku Shop release for Plasma Corp, this is the beginning of the meta's "Unlocking" so to speak, where rather than some of the game's most useful or meta-viable ultras being locked to only limited stock releases from auctions, Black Friday, or gifts, which are often a matter of RNG or who can shell out the most cash, players will begin to see more later-game grinds across different game modes or areas of content that provide higher-tier items accessible to those willing to put in the work. You will see similar item tiers which provide more counter-play mechanics or which can compete with some of today's best items in some upcoming updates like the Complex update. The only catch is that these items as you saw with the Jigoku Katana will not be trade-enabled, and thus won't interfere with today's higher-tier item market or be heavily devalued through trades as more players eventually obtain them.
The Abyssal Serpent deals 15 damage per swing with range comparable to Ryouma Dual Blades or Tactical Daggers. It is a slower-swinging sword that sits two frames of freeze faster than similar slower-swinging ranged weapons like Taixu or Unknown Dimension Katana from gifts and auctions, respectively.
It features a passive effect which has a high chance to reflect incoming bullets while swinging the sword. The effect will proc whenever the second attack plays, which is a blocking attack animation. It also has a chance to leech 2 HP with every swing and inflict Serpent Burn on hit. On top of that, it features one utility special and one AOE attack similar in nature to Unknown Dimension Katana's skill-based stun special.

The first ability is a rate-of-fire buff applied to its wielder. When triggered, the wielder will have much faster attack speed for a total of 6 seconds before reverting back to its base attack speed and going on cool down for 16 seconds, for a total down-time of 10 seconds.

The second special it features is a two-part AOE attack which freezes its wielder for 2 long seconds, keeping them suspended for the full animation's duration. Players caught within the immediate vicinity of the special will be stunned for 1 second and dealt 2 points of damage. Once the stun ends, a much larger AOE attack will affect those stunned and any nearby players within a larger radius, inflicting 20 damage with a guaranteed Serpent Burn proc. This means if your targets were initially stunned by the first AOE attack which dealt 2 damage, they can be combo'd for a total of 22 damage. If you miss it, much like UDK, you are dead, so try to use it as a finishing move more than anything! The current ability cool down is 18 seconds.
*Abyssal Serpent is subject to balancing changes or even price adjustments over time as players accustom, like all newer releases.
