VIP Speed Boost, Future of VIP Perks, and March VIP Release
Hey Era! A couple quick things to discuss in this release beyond just a standard monthly VIP release, so let's get right into it. This blog post will be divided into three small sections:

VIP Speed Boost Mechanic
Going forward, the old VIP speed boost mechanic will no longer be bundled with VIP's existing perks. That doesn't mean the speed boost itself will be removed, but rather, from here on out, all players, whether subscribed to VIP or not, will now have VIP walk speed by default. Running out of VIP will no longer take away your speed boost either, and going to Mercy Gym to acquire a boost will no longer be necessary for a F2P player.
Why do this? The answer is that it's simply an ancient mechanic which hasn't aged well, and while it may be a big reason many players continue to subscribe to VIP, it can also act as a wall for many players looking to hop back into the game who don't keep excess G$ on hand or who don't play as actively to justify always paying for a subscription or heading to Mercy Gym weekly.
The VIP speed boost is essential if you do any sort of competitive play. Whether that be sparring, basing, events, or any activity where being able to run as fast as everybody else might matter. And while we could just individually grant everybody the same speed across several of these game modes, we think it'd be better to phase out what is essentially a pay-to-win mechanic entirely.
Future of VIP Perks
Currently, the following in-game perks are granted on VIP subscription:
- A free, unique monthly item
- 5000 Upload Tokens and 1500 VIP Cookies, added monthly
- Nearly 100 extra body colors
- Unlimited revive on death
- Unlimited gun ammo
- Extra daily, weekly, and monthly quests to complete
- Longer-lasting car gas tank
- Additional star friend slots
- No trade table fees
- Nearly 100 extra inventory favorite slots
- Additional saved outfits
These perks will continue to be offered with each VIP subscription, but we will also be looking to expand the perks offered by VIP subscriptions over time. If you have any suggestions for what sort of new VIP perks could make it into the game, feel free to suggest them in-game through the PR Support menu or via our official Discord forums.
March 2026 VIP Release
And finally, for those who actually read this far and haven't logged in yet or redeemed VIP . . This month's VIP item is: The Chewgum Katana!
An 8.5 damage katana which comes with an 8-clip bubblegum-firing ability which fires 2 bubblegum projectiles at a time for a total of 4 shots before going on cool down! Each shot deals 4.5 damage stacked for a total of nine with a small chance to slow opponents. It also comes with a sheath special!
VIP subscribers can also now head over to the VIP Shop on their map for five additional skins.
On top of this month's VIP release, subscribers have also been granted the usual 5000 Upload Tokens and 1500 VIP Cookies. Thanks for being a part of Era and supporting the game!
