Mysterious Item Teasers and News 2026
Finally, some news about Orb and the rest of the exotics.

Hey Era! Here's your long-awaited update on the status of the Mysterious Orb and other currency weapons. Back in January, I published a blog post with a small section discussing how we'd approach the development of the mysterious currency weapons for 2026. You can read that post here.

In the 6 months since that post, our small team has made significant progress. This post will be split up by sections detailing current weapon progress across all currencies, teasers for Mysterious Orb's weapons and upcoming currency weapons, as well as an important announcement about the future of mysterious currencies at the end.

Weapon Progress News

As you know, we're currently working on 2 weapons each for the following 4 pending currencies:

Mysterious Orb
Mysterious Ticket
Mysterious Candy
Mysterious Scroll

That's a total of 8 pending mysterious weapons. And as of this post, 6 out of those 8 are ready to be teased. We'll still be releasing them 1 currency at a time, with plenty of time for staff testing and balancing between each release, but we still want to show you what you can expect from your held currencies.

6 are finished GFX-wise, 4 are finished or nearing completion GANI-wise, and Mysterious Orb's weapons are in the scripting stage. Read on ahead for teasers of each.

We'll provide their ability names without further details to allow players to speculate regarding their functionalities and ability kits, much like we did for the Mysterious Crystal teasers.

Future Currencies Announcement

As we continue to progress on what is essentially a five-year back log of mysterious weapons promised to our player base, we want you to know what to expect for upcoming Christmas currencies. So without further stalling:

Mysterious Scroll will be the final mysterious currency that'll be 25 stock and redeemable for 2 weapons.

Going forward, future mysterious currencies will be capped to 20 stock, and only redeemable for 1 mysterious weapon at a later date following their release. This means if 2026's currency is the Mysterious Pendant for example, it'll be 20 stock and will only be exchangeable for 1 weapon when it becomes redeemable.

We're choosing to do this for multiple reasons:

  • It's obvious to our team and players that we struggle to stay on top of the mysterious projects as evident by a more than five year delay in overdue currencies.
  • Finding and retaining GANI and GFX talent that's able to work on items on the quality level of mysterious weapons is genuinely hard. Talented artists who are experienced with VFX and specialized programs or who have experience making complex weapons with large sprite sheets are rare. The same goes for talented GANI artists capable of working on animations that pair well with that graphical talent or who know how to work on complex projects alongside scripters with lots of sprites and abilities.
  • 25 stock is a lot for items that are essentially the pinnacle of the game. With 2 weapons to choose from, the purchases aren't equally distributed, and often the players who purchased the least popular weapon are unhappy with their purchase for years and demand swaps or weapon reworks (For example Aegis and Firmament where most owners chose Dimension Rifle or Sorcerer's Spell).
  • From a balancing perspective, 2 mysterious-tier weapons a year is not healthy long-term as more currencies release. By design, mysterious weapons tend to have unique abilities that alter or influence the basing meta, and planning for and adjusting the balancing of 1 weapon as opposed to 2 per release will always be infinitely easier for both scripter staff and the game's meta to deal with.

That's all for now! We'll post patch notes in the future for Mysterious Orb once the weapons are ready for staff testing. Thanks for your continued patience and let's all look forward to more content updates for the game across all areas from competitive to casual.
